Blood Services The Chapter conducts six public blood drives per year. Local businesses are welcome and encouraged to sponsor a blood drive. Please call the chapter for the location of the collection sites, dates and times for donating blood and/or information on blood drive sponsorship. Armed Forces Emergency Services The American Red Cross provides a communication link between military personnel and their families during emergencies and crises. The Red Cross sends messages verifying family illnesses, deaths and births. Military personnel may also be granted emergency leave or reassignments with the assistance of the Red Cross. Health & Safety Courses Classes in First Aid, CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), swimming, lifeguard training courses, babysitting classes, and youth presentations (covering first aid, personal and general safety skills are available throughout the year. Volunteer Opportunities The Neenah-Menasha Chapter has opportunities for volunteers that are needed in all areas of service; working with youth and young adults, marketing, fundraising activities, general office, special events and other community events, and as board members and other leadership type volunteers. Emergency Household Support Program The Neenah-Menasha Chapter reaches out to those in need by providing emergency food, household supplies and personal care items to individuals and families with a referral from Human Services. Community Disaster Education The Neenah-Menasha Chapter provides information and presentations regarding disaster education. This service is available to local area individuals, churches, clubs, organizations, agencies, schools and businesses. Brochures and materials are available on various topics. Youth & Young Adult Program Area youth can enjoy serving the community by doing fund-raising and planning social events involving their peers to raise awareness of the Red Cross in the community. 2006/07 Chapter Statistics: 25 youth committee members participated in 11 community service projects |
